In answering this question, as a pastor, I must say that I agree that some religious are narrow minded when it comes to how we live out our spiritual lives.  Maybe people would also say that many Christian religious people are narrow minded because they claim to have a corner on the truth when it comes to God, faith and spirituality.

Actually, if you take some time to look at various spiritual choices out there, you will soon discover that most claim to have a corner on the market when it comes to God, faith and spirituality.

In my opinion, Christianity stands alone primarily because it corresponds more to reality than other faith claims.  For instance, the evidence outside of the story of the Bible is plentiful that Jesus lived here on earth, died and then beat death by rising from the dead.  

If Jesus actually rose from the dead, then Christianity stands alone. No other spiritual leader has validated his teachings by doing this and passing the tests of authenticity. So what do we do with this reality of history?  Because Jesus is the only spiritual leader who conquered death, I think it's key to take note of what he said about God, life, faith, spirituality and especially the afterlife.  Maybe that's narrrow mindedness in a positive way.
